How the tiers compare
TierEditionSalt / pepperMechanismWhat sets it apart
Classic1000224 / 234 mm195 mmThe everyday table mill and the widest choice, each tower in its true colours.
Icon500224 / 234 mm195 mmMade as their own edition, all at one matching size, so they stand together on the table.
Keeper250224 / 234 mm195 mmA tribute to the people who kept the lights. Contrasting timbers and inlays form the bands where the tower allows, so the colour is in the wood itself, with hand painted detail where it does not.
Heritage100300 / 310 mm260 mmThe towers with the most presence and history, made larger with more turned detail.
Elder50300 / 310 mm260 mmThe Elders sit above every other tier: only 50 of each.

Castle Point Icon and Hood Point Icon, the old and the new lights of East London.

PersonaliseNone

Optional, R150 per engraved item. Engraving is laser burned. We send you a proof to approve before anything is engraved. You have 2 weeks to approve it. See examples

To keep the engraving neat and in proportion: text up to 20 characters on the plinth and 14 on the tower, and a logo up to 30 by 10 mm on the plinth and 20 by 25 mm on the tower, in one colour. Would you like more room? Email info@lighthousemills.co.za and we will see what can be done.

Each mill is engraved on its own, so you can put a different name or date on each. Logos are chosen for each mill separately.

Castle Point Icon (pepper mill)
Hood Point Icon (salt mill)

Your PapersLayout A

Every mill comes with its own Papers of Provenance, in layout A unless you choose B. If you like, add a message for each mill that we write by hand in calligraphy, R150 per message. The messages can differ.

Your Register linePrivate

Every number is listed on the public Register. Unless you choose otherwise, yours shows only that the number is commissioned. You can choose to show your town or your name next to it instead.

We check the text before it appears. Private shows only that the number is commissioned.

Everything above is optional. Open a line to change it. How personalising works
