Description
Today’s light, 1919. Built lower on the cliffs in 1919 after the old light on the peak was too often lost in cloud. Today it is the most powerful light on the South African coast.
The lantern of each Cape Town Icon, turned in hard maple and hand painted in a thin Koate wash so the grain shows through, then set on a stainless steel stopper that closes a standard wine bottle. Five lights, one for every corner of a Cape Town day.
- Turned maple lantern under a thin Koate wash, so the grain shows
- Solid painted lantern panes and a turned maple top
- Maple band with the name burned in
- Stainless spike and silicone rings fit standard wine bottles
